The quick answer

Good tile work starts long before grout. It needs a flat, waterproofed surface, a layout that puts full tiles where you look and cuts where you do not, and the patience to set every piece level with its neighbor. Tile is where White Saber began, and it remains the heart of every bathroom we build.

Asked often

Before you book: tile installation Q&A.

Can I bring my own tile?

Yes. We can help check quantities and trim pieces before you order.

Do you install heated floors under tile?

Yes. Radiant mats go in before tile while the floor is open.

Do you tile outside the bathroom?

Ask us. Backsplashes and other tile projects can often be added.

Replacing builder tile

Many newer Puyallup homes have a small format beige floor tile and little else. Upgrading the floor to large-format porcelain or a pattern changes the whole room, and it can be paired with radiant heat while the floor is open.

Patterns, explained

  • Straight stack: modern, calm, quickest to set
  • Offset or brick: familiar and forgiving
  • Herringbone: lively, labor-intensive
  • Mosaic: great grip on shower floors
  • Large-format slab looks: few joints, need very flat walls

Flat and level

Large tiles reveal any hump in the floor or bow in the wall. We correct the surface first and use leveling systems while setting, so edges line up without lippage.

Grout and caulk

Grout color changes the whole look; a matching grout reads calm, a contrasting one shows off the pattern. At changes of plane, like where the wall meets the tub, flexible sealant belongs instead of grout.
